I have to admit, one of my favorite parts of the holiday season is the month-long baking extravaganza. That’s why my sweet tooth was extra excited to hear ClearVision is all about the cookies too – and I’m not talking about the ones stored on your web browser. This year is ClearVision’s first “Virtual Cookie Exchange” on our Facebook page. What’s unique about this social media campaign is that it’s not all about the social media.
I’m as addicted to Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn as the next 22-year-old year grad student, but that doesn’t mean I believe social media marketing is a replacement for traditional marketing activities – it’s complementary, and this is something we’ve put into practice with our Virtual Cookie Exchange.
Not all of our customers are digitally-savvy, but they all do have an office with a mailbox, and that’s still a powerful tool. We used greeting cards attached to a traditional holiday gift – an ornament – to “invite” customers to a social environment. Some even received a hand delivered invitation from our reps, just like in the old days. Multiple marketing elements were included into this campaign to make sure everyone can join the cookie-baking fun.
With that being said, start your oven and dig up your favorite holiday recipe! Share your favorite recipes on our Facebook page and view submissions from ClearVision’s friends all over the country. In addition, we’re challenging you to bake up the most creative batch of treat using the CVO “eyeglasses” cookie cutter. Then, post a photo of your decorated cookie creations onto our Facebook, facebook.com/clearvisionoptical, or send it to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Our judges will choose a winner to receive a beautiful BCBGMAXAZRIA handbag!
